Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for Medicaid patients

• Oversee medication management and prescribe psychotropic medications

• Provide continuous psychiatric care

• Facilitate confidential virtual sessions using a telehealth platform

• Develop and manage a varied caseload through the referral network

• Collaborate with therapists and other professionals within a multidisciplinary care team

• Create patient-centered treatment plans

• Contribute to enhancing access to behavioral healthcare for Medicaid populations

⛳️ Requirements

• Current, unrestricted PMHNP license in good standing in Virginia

• National board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

• Prescriptive authority in Virginia

• Active DEA registration in Virginia

• Experience in providing psychiatric evaluations and prescribing psychotropic medications, either under supervision or independently

• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other digital tools

• Quiet and HIPAA-compliant home office environment for confidential virtual sessions

• Proficiency in English

• Strong clinical judgment in managing psychiatric conditions across diverse populations

• Patient-centered approach to medication management and treatment planning

• Experience working collaboratively with therapists and other providers in a multidisciplinary care team

• Dedication to promoting equity in mental health access for Medicaid populations
