This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design high-quality protection schemes for T&D substations, data centers, industrial sites, and BESS applications, which include one-lines, three-lines, and AC/DC schematics.
• Conduct peer reviews of protection and control designs, covering diagrams, panel layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Create protection and metering diagrams, tripping tables/matrices, logic diagrams, auxiliary power diagrams, relay protection and control schematics, as well as metering, monitoring, and alarm schematics.
• Collaborate with electrical layout engineers, relay setting engineers, site managers, commissioning engineers, and field personnel on P&C design coordination.
• Engage with vendors and manufacturers, reviewing technical P&C documentation.
• Address technical engineering and design issues with the Project Engineering Manager or Project P&C Lead.
• Conduct calculations for DC battery and charger sizing, voltage-drop, and auxiliary AC power design.
• Develop and support FAT and SAT procedures.
• Take part in engineering and constructability reviews of project P&C deliverables.
• Contribute to enhancements in design processes and quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• BSEE with a Power major is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Proven presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationally, for meetings and on-site commissioning tests.
• Ability to adhere to company travel and tax policies.
• Familiarity with the IEC 61850 process, system bus architecture, and substation implementation.
• Knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP and Aspen OneLiner.
• Understanding of NERC-CIP standards and cybersecurity guidelines.
• Knowledge of grid interconnection practices.
• Experience in technical problem-solving.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-driven with exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
