This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Deliver field risk engineering services to fulfill underwriting criteria.
• Create and execute customer service initiatives aimed at minimizing loss and enhancing customer operations.
• Offer engineering assistance to the underwriting team by participating in client broker meetings.
• Conduct field engineering activities, primarily for larger accounts and/or prospects within the region.
• Provide advanced property consultative services to clients.
• Recognize exposures with considerable loss potential.
• Analyze the causes and implications of significant losses and property management strategies.
• Aid in promoting Zurich risk transfer insurance products alongside underwriting professionals and agents across various business segments.
• Perform thorough risk evaluations.
• Assess risk management procedures.
• Support marketing initiatives.
• Travel around 40% of the time.
• Risk Engineering Consultant: Bachelor’s Degree with 3 or more years of experience in Property Risk Engineering, OR a High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5 or more years of experience in Property Risk Engineering.
• Senior Risk Engineering Consultant: Bachelor’s Degree with 6 or more years of experience in Property Risk Engineering, OR a High School Diploma or Equivalent with 8 or more years of experience in Property Risk Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in a collaborative team setting.
• Significant experience with highly protected risk (HPR) properties.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, or a related field.
• Preferred: 4 or more years of property loss control/Risk Engineering experience in the insurance sector.
• Preferred: Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
• Excellent communication and consultative abilities.
• Exceptional collaboration skills.
• Proven track record of successful teamwork.
• High level of proficiency with PC and MS Office applications.
• Capability to meet approximately 40% travel obligations.
• No employment sponsorship will be provided.
• Eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus of 10% for the Risk Engineering Consultant level.
• Eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus of 15% for the Senior Risk Engineering Consultant level.
