This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.
• Conduct investigations and resolve property claims, including both first-party and third-party claims.
• Initiate investigations for new claims promptly.
• Make determinations regarding liability and coverage.
• Assess and negotiate settlements for collision, specified perils, and property damage when necessary.
• Supervise and manage the efforts of external adjusters, appraisers, and experts.
• Establish communication with insured parties and claimants in accordance with established protocols.
• Identify coverage issues and escalate them to the supervisor as needed.
• Cultivate a foundational understanding of liability and coverage principles.
• Be aware of state-specific laws and claims regulations across the United States to ensure compliance during claims investigations, including the issuance and collection of necessary documentation.
• Perform research to ascertain market value for automobiles and heavy equipment to recommend total loss settlement values using appropriate state valuation methodologies.
• Prepare summaries and recommendations for handling claims that exceed individual settlement authority.
• Address time-sensitive matters, including intercompany arbitration hearings and complaints to the department of insurance.
• Maintain a diary system to systematically review and resolve claims in line with state compliance guidelines.
• Keep state licenses current by completing continuing education courses and/or pursuing a claims designation.
• Manage small claim lawsuits as required.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the claims supervisor.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with Lloyd’s of London is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Xactimate software.
• Ability to obtain licenses in necessary states and countries.
• AIC designation is preferred.
• Remote work option with potential travel to the home office.
