This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Efficiently oversee a Property Accounting team that includes direct reports.
• Guide and manage a team of accountants in generating financial statements for industrial, office, retail, development/construction, association, and data center projects on behalf of Clients.
• Serve as a liaison among the Client, property management, and the project accounting team.
• Act as the primary contact for assigned Clients, ensuring that Client requests are fulfilled promptly and with the highest level of professionalism.
• Review financial statement packages before submission to Clients, ensuring accuracy and consistency in report presentation.
• Collaborate with the property management team and assigned accountants to effectively transition properties that are newly managed, acquired, sold, or foreclosed.
• Identify training requirements, monitor performance, provide coaching, conduct year-end reviews, and motivate the team.
• Lead the transition and setup of new property assignments.
• Foster positive internal and external customer service, encouraging open and constructive communication with property management to build strong relationships.
• Assist accountants in processing and/or calculating debt, real estate taxes, sales tax, margin tax, deferred rent, and owner distributions.
• Ensure accurate recording of purchased and sold projects, as well as loan refinancing.
• Review the presentation of fixed assets for proper depreciation/amortization.
• Develop and deliver training for accountants on real estate-specific accounting processes, variance analysis, budget reviews, operating expense reconciliation, and accounting software.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Stream Policies and Procedures and ensure compliance among accountants.
• Offer guidance and direction on “Best Practices” regarding accounting policies and procedures to accountants and property management.
• Coordinate Client requests as necessary.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.
• Previous management experience is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of leading a team of degreed accountants in producing timely financial statements.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service for both clients and colleagues.
• Possess a deep understanding of accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP) along with financial terms and principles.
• Exhibit the ability to perform well under pressure, proactively addressing unusual situations; manage complex employee issues confidentially and fairly.
• Show excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and receptiveness to new ideas and processes.
• Committed to learning and maintaining an in-depth understanding of company/department policies and procedures, ensuring compliance among accountants.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with over 5 years of experience.
