This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver internal and external reports detailing a portfolio's or property's financial performance.
• Compile monthly financial statement packages for clients.
• Generate and record journal entries in the general ledger.
• Manage the depreciation and amortization schedules for fixed assets.
• Analyze the general ledger and income statement.
• Conduct reconciliations for bank statements and balance sheets.
• Evaluate variance comments from property managers.
• Ensure adherence to internal and external reporting deadlines.
• Liaise with property management teams and Property Managers regarding accounting and financial details.
• Engage with clients on basic to intermediate issues, escalating complex matters to supervisors or managers as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of property budgets and expense reconciliations through data analysis.
• Generate recurring and on-demand reports and analyses.
• Prepare and file Sales & Use Tax returns, where applicable.
• Oversee and assess project/property cash accounts.
• Guarantee prompt payment of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions.
• Review and post cash receipts.
• Examine payables and process vendor invoices for payment.
• Ensure compliance with SOC I standards.
• Provide customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Undertake other assigned projects and responsibilities.
• 2-4 years of relevant accounting or reporting experience.
• Analytical and accounting capabilities aligned with experience level.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to listen effectively and seek clarification when necessary.
• Proficient in client and team interactions.
• Self-driven with the capability to multitask in a deadline-focused environment.
• Initiative in addressing routine to intermediate problems and presenting potential solutions to a supervisor.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Familiarity with various accounting software.
• Experience in full-cycle general ledger accounting is an advantage.
• Experience in the real estate sector is a plus.
• Experience with Yardi and/or MRI is beneficial.
