Property Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for various real estate entities.

• Reconcile credit card transactions, escrow accounts, and operational accounts.

• Investigate discrepancies and ensure the proper resolution of all reconciling items.

• Process accounts payable for multiple properties/entities.

• Review invoices, ensure alignment with contracts or purchase orders, and verify correct coding.

• Collaborate with property teams to confirm approvals and proper documentation.

• Maintain accounts payable aging schedules and follow up on any outstanding items.

• Update ledgers and aid in maintaining clean and accurate financial records across entities.

• Support monthly closing activities, including journal entries and accruals.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for properties as directed.

• Help collect documentation required for audits, tax filings, or lender reporting.

• Utilize QuickBooks, AppFolio, Yardi, and Buildium for daily operations.

• Keep organized digital files and ensure effective document controls.

• Provide insights on enhancing workflows or accounting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting.

• Strong comprehension of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.

• Proficient in QuickBooks (QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a plus).

• Familiarity with AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, or comparable property accounting software.

• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

• Capability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple properties or entities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• CPA or similar certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
