This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +7 more states.
• Oversee production staff, including tracking start, end, and break times in a remote work setting.
• Maintain records of vacation and sick days, and conduct regular one-on-one meetings and evaluations for direct reports.
• Ensure clear communication of project specifications and foster effective communication among team members.
• Perform routine quality inspections to guarantee that project deliverables adhere to the required standards.
• Verify that time sheets are completed daily and that correct time codes and units are recorded.
• Make informed design and drafting decisions, and implement corrective actions for any detected quality or compliance issues.
• Allocate resources efficiently to meet project deadlines and profitability objectives.
• Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure that all project team members are engaged in productive activities, with individual tasks completed and invoiced in a timely manner.
• Manage time effectively to remain available for mentoring and addressing inquiries.
• Identify skill gaps and obtain approval for necessary training sessions or new resource recruitment.
• Ensure production team members receive appropriate training before assuming new tasks.
• Develop and enhance the team’s skill sets to prepare for upcoming projects.
• Collaborate with management to implement corrective actions related to behavior, performance, or quality issues.
• Monitor staff productivity to ensure targets are met, taking corrective measures when necessary.
• Assign specific projects to individual designers and address questions regarding time tracking.
• Safeguard the confidentiality of company information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• At least three years of experience in production design and/or supervisory roles within engineering or a related industry.
• Ability to manage sudden changes in priorities and transition between tasks seamlessly while maintaining productivity and a positive attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and plans effectively.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt, accepting increased responsibilities as they arise.
• Highly responsible, resourceful, accurate, dependable, and self-motivated.
