Project Manager, Utility-Scale Solar Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Supervise and ensure the effective delivery of Company projects, adhering to timelines, budgets, and all relevant health, safety, contractual, quality, and legal standards.

• Organize, lead, and manage a project team comprising internal resources (such as Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Design Engineers) and external partners like subcontractors, consultants, clients, utilities, and development collaborators.

• Assume direct accountability for all facets of project delivery as required.

• Guide the team in evaluating, qualifying, referencing, scoping, negotiating prices, and contracting with subcontractors.

• Execute and oversee project administration, which includes project meetings, document control, submittals, quality assurance, construction team planning and documentation, as well as other project close-out and commissioning activities.

• Manage budgets, expenses, revenues, margins, and schedules for multiple concurrent projects; monitor project actual P&L against plans and implement corrective measures to achieve goals; accurately project revenues, costs, and margins.

• Establish and enforce health and safety protocols for each project; ensure project adherence to health and safety guidelines, including compliance from personnel, contractors, clients, and others on-site.

• Ensure ongoing compliance by projects and contractors with all contractual, legal, and permit requirements.

• Take primary responsibility for comprehending and applying federal, state, and local codes and regulatory mandates.

• Develop and manage processes to obtain and maintain necessary approvals from clients, interconnection providers, and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

• Guarantee precise and prompt submissions to clients, interconnection providers, and AHJs.

• Assist internal teams in origination, development, financing, and engineering on project-related matters, including pricing, technical design, compliance with site specifications, permitting, and other constraints.

• Conduct project diligence involving site reconnaissance, geotechnical assessments, and investigations.

• Participate in AHJ meetings, supervising and contributing to the preparation of project design and construction documentation and plans.

• Provide updates on project status to internal and external colleagues and stakeholders; manage project specifics and track progress.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Five to seven years of progressive project management experience in large-scale, ground-mounted solar construction projects.

• In-depth knowledge of contracts, plans, specifications, codes, design/build agreements, and construction methodologies.

• Proficient in land development and project financial closing requirements.

• Experience with large-scale cut and fill earthwork or landfill construction is mandatory.
