Project Manager – K-12 Schools

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Act as the owner's representative for designated K-12 projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget from pre-construction to project completion.

• Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.

• Oversee contracts, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and payment applications.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to address design inquiries and uphold design integrity.

• Work alongside the on-site Construction Manager to synchronize field activities with the overall project strategy.

• Relay project status, risks, and milestones to district stakeholders, facilities personnel, and the Program Manager.

• Assist in procurement and bidding activities, including scope development, bid evaluation, and contractor qualification.

• Ensure adherence to public bidding regulations, prevailing wage laws, and district procurement protocols.

• Organize project phasing and sequencing in accordance with the school calendar.

• Oversee project-level risk identification and mitigation strategies.

• Monitor and manage project closeout, including punch lists, as-built documents, warranties, and final paperwork.

• Compile and deliver project status reports and updates.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the construction sector.

• Experience with K-12 or public education projects is preferred.

• Proficient understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, and budget/cost management.

• Knowledge of public bidding, prevailing wage, and school construction standards is advantageous.

• Expertise in project management and scheduling software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with owners, designers, and contractors.

• Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and soft skills.

• Capability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

• PMP certification is a plus.

• Availability to attend occasional evening meetings.

• Willingness to travel frequently between school locations; some overnight stays may be necessary.

• A valid driver's license is required.
