This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee cross-departmental teams by providing project management assistance on various small, mid-level, and enterprise IT infrastructure projects simultaneously, with minimal oversight from management.
• Support strategic initiatives at the Hanford site, which includes defining tasks and timelines, coordinating across departments, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, contractual obligations, and objectives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules that include resource allocations.
• Regularly engage with development team members to ensure a balance between demand and capacity, reviewing actual hours worked against planned hours to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Provide Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates using the approved OSC/HMIS Business Office processes, incorporating input from the development team.
• Ensure project costs are monitored throughout the project life cycle against the planned schedule and budget.
• Manage any cost variances and report overall project progress and execution within the project portfolio management system as necessary.
• Exhibit effective communication and presentation skills to both internal and external project stakeholders.
• Document change control items following standard project management processes, procedures, and best practices; monitor impacts on schedule, scope, resources, or costs.
• Identify, assess, document, manage, mitigate, and communicate issues and risks throughout the project life cycle.
• Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of project management experience, including 3 years in an IT field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Applicants must possess REAL ID ACT compliant documentation at the time of hire and have no records that would prevent access to Department of Energy sites.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Clearance.
• Experience in project management and implementation of infrastructure projects in areas such as Cloud Infrastructure, Networking and Data Centers, Disaster Recovery and Security, and Hardware Upgrades and Maintenance.
• Familiarity with Software/IT life cycles (SDLC).
• SDLC knowledge should encompass both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• At least 2 years of experience working in an Agile environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Azure DevOps and/or other Agile methodology organization tools such as Jira, Asana, or Trello.
• Experience or understanding of how websites, web applications, databases, servers (web, application, and database), cloud-based solutions, Microsoft Windows applications, and general business process flows operate to facilitate successful IT projects.
