This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the primary contact and client services representative for a designated group of clients.
• Support clients with project initiation, encompassing initial quotes, supply orders, sample receipt, data reporting, and invoicing.
• Foster collaborative relationships with clients, laboratory operations, and the sales team.
• Engage in staff and client meetings to communicate information regarding past, current, and upcoming projects.
• Coordinate with the laboratory to ensure projects adhere to turnaround-time deadlines.
• Maintain accounts in a project-managed, up-to-date, and accurate manner.
• Track project progress and deliver proactive updates to clients, laboratory operations, and sales personnel.
• Grasp project rationale, relevant regulations, and analytical methodologies.
• Record and fulfill client requests, which include bottle orders, sample tracking, LIMS login, and change orders.
• Assess project data and invoices for accuracy and completeness prior to dispatching final reports.
• Take part in offsite and/or virtual client meetings organized in collaboration with the Sales team.
• Develop and implement laboratory protocols for complex or unusual analytical and reporting needs.
• Provide training and delegate responsibilities to Project Manager Assistants and Project Manager I.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to uphold SGS’s quality, service, and growth objectives.
• An associate's degree or equivalent industry experience is mandatory.
• At least 2 years of pertinent experience as a Project Manager I is required.
• A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Over 3 years of experience as a Project Manager I is preferred.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations, including NPDES and SW-846, is advantageous.
• Capability to manage projects of intermediate complexity and/or annual analytical expenditures.
• Proficient in developing working relationships with clients and technical staff.
• Ability to comprehend project rationale, applicable regulations, and analytical methods employed by the laboratory and clients.
• Competence in reviewing project data and invoices for precision and completeness.
• Skilled in training and assigning tasks to Project Manager Assistants and Project Manager I.
• Capable of performing essential job functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
