This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee power delivery projects from start to finish, including the development of scope, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
• Act as the main contact for utility clients, engineering partners, and internal management, ensuring that all project activities comply with client standards, regulatory requirements, and system performance objectives.
• Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, with a strong focus on technical quality, safety, and timely execution.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, which include substation design, physical/electrical engineering, system protection, SCADA/communications, and civil/structural contributors.
• Oversee subcontractors and external partners, ensuring that deliverables meet technical specifications and project requirements.
• Lead design reviews, technical work sessions, and project check-ins to ensure team alignment and address engineering challenges.
• Track project performance metrics such as design progress, engineering quality indicators, and cost/schedule variances, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Assist with business development efforts, including creating proposals, cost estimates, work plans, and presentations for clients.
• High school diploma
• Over 8 years of experience in power delivery engineering project management
• More than 5 years of experience in preparing forecasts, accruals, and invoicing for power delivery projects
• At least 3 years of experience in cost allocation, project coordination, or as an assistant project manager
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience with investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, and/or rural electric cooperatives
• Familiarity with change order management, schedule creation, and budget tracking/forecasting
• Ability to manage priorities while handling multiple projects
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Word and Excel
• Working knowledge of utility substation engineering project scopes
• Comfortable with client-facing communications.
