Project Manager – Engineering Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate engineering, architecture, construction, or facility initiatives from inception to completion.

• Define and manage project scope, budgets, timelines, staffing strategies, work breakdown structures, and performance benchmarks.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in engineering, architecture, construction, procurement, commissioning, and client relations.

• Handle project financials, including forecasting, cost management, invoicing, earned value analysis, profitability, and accounts receivable.

• Create and uphold project management strategies, quality assurance, safety protocols, risk management, communication, and change-management plans.

• Evaluate project performance and tackle issues related to scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, resources, and contracts.

• Facilitate kickoff meetings, progress updates, client presentations, risk assessments, and executive briefings.

• Engage with clients, internal leadership, subcontractors, vendors, regulatory bodies, and project team members.

• Assess contracts, proposals, change orders, and commercial terms.

• Oversee change control processes and evaluate impacts on scope, cost, schedule, and resources.

• Ensure project deliverables are complete, coordinated, technically proficient, and compliant with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client expectations.

• Advocate for quality assurance and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assist in business development through client relationship management, proposal creation, and pursuit strategy formulation.

• Lead project closeout processes, including final documentation, financial reconciliation, client acceptance, and post-project reviews.

• Foster a culture of safety, ethical conduct, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exemplary client service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, project management, business, or a related technical field; relevant professional experience may be considered.

• 3-5 years of experience managing engineering design projects in healthcare, industrial, advanced manufacturing, chemicals, life sciences, or similar sectors.

• 5-10 years of experience as an engineer or architect in an A/E/C setting within the aforementioned or related fields.

• Proven experience in managing complex projects involving multiple disciplines, stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and vendors.

• Background in managing intricate projects within the A/E/C consulting environment.

• Knowledge of design-bid-build, design-build, EPC, EPCM, and integrated project delivery methodologies.

• Experience in managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, quality, safety, procurement, and contractual obligations.

• Strong financial and business insights, including forecasting, cost control, change management, and project performance reporting.

• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Capability to foster productive client relationships and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving competencies.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt to evolving project requirements.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% to client, project, or company locations as needed.
