This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• The Early Phase Project Manager is tasked with the development, execution, and completion of research projects, aligning with the reasonable expectations of the project originator.
• Responsible for all facets of study management activities, which include leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, managing client communications, overseeing financial aspects, and ensuring overall study delivery.
• Must guarantee that studies are effectively resourced, efficiently managed, achieve project goals within set budgets and timelines, and are executed to the highest standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Provides mentorship and coaching to Junior Project Management staff or Clinical Delivery Leads, aiding in their technical development.
• Capable of managing projects independently or with support from Portfolio Delivery Leads or Line Manager.
• Cultivates and maintains effective professional relationships with external customers, investigators, and vendors.
• Coordinates the feasibility planning and selection process for project sites.
• Oversees the establishment of sites within the relevant region, ensuring compliance with SOPs, protocols, and all applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Tracks project progress against timelines and delivers project-specific milestones as agreed upon with the customer.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific or related discipline.
• Previous experience in clinical projects within an academic, CRO, or pharmaceutical company setting.
• Approximately seven (7) years of industry experience is recommended for this role, including 1-2 years of project management experience.
• Preference for candidates with prior CRA experience or experience in site management roles, trial coordination, or relevant industry experience.
• Experience in managing early-phase and healthy volunteer studies is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proven experience in managing single or multiple regions, working across various therapeutic indications, and managing full-service studies, particularly in early-phase clinical trials.
• Strong working knowledge and ability to execute project activities in accordance with ICH/GCP and all applicable regulations and guidelines in the relevant regions.
• Prior exposure to client-facing interactions and/or client management is essential.
• Experience in project finance management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation abilities, and team leadership capabilities, including leading virtual teams in a cross-cultural context and managing conflicts.
