This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
• Take ownership of the project. Navigate through complexities. Deliver on commitments.
• Lead grant-funded fiber deployment initiatives from the design kickoff to construction and final network handover.
• Manage competing priorities among engineering partners, contractors, internal teams, and clients.
• Proactively identify risks, enforce accountability, and ensure project continuity.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive project schedule that includes design, permitting, construction, drop installation, testing, and network turnover milestones.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to grant-mandated buildout timelines, reporting deadlines, and program-specific milestone requirements.
• Evaluate the performance of the engineering firm against their Statement of Work (SOW), deliverable timelines, and contract stipulations.
• Develop and oversee project budgets; compare actual costs with forecasts and report discrepancies to the Director of Project Management.
• Act as the primary liaison for the client regarding project status, deliverables, and issue resolution.
• Ensure all project activities and documentation meet state and federal grant program regulations.
• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree in project management, construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of project management experience in telecom, broadband, fiber optic, or utility construction.
• Proven experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and contractor/vendor relationships.
• Strong knowledge of OSP fiber optic construction phases, including design, permitting, mainline construction, and drop installation.
• Experience with compliance management for SOW and contracts related to third-party engineering or construction firms.
• Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client-facing reporting and managing stakeholder interactions.
• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to handle multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
• PMP certification or an equivalent project management credential is preferred.
• Experience with government-funded or grant-funded broadband deployment initiatives (BEAD, RDOF, ReConnect, CAF, or similar) is preferred.
