This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Oversee the activities of distributed software development teams and field trial users throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Manage project timelines, communication, dependencies, financial oversight, and progress updates to external funders and co-development partners.
• Collaborate with the Development team, Language Technology leadership, partners, supporting organizations, user communities, and field trial leaders.
• Ensure alignment of technology roadmaps and sprint priorities with language program objectives.
• Create processes for gathering, synthesizing, and presenting data on team progress and processes.
• Advocate for team processes and development velocity in accordance with the product strategy.
• Organize and manage user research outputs and the insights derived from them.
• Coordinate the long-term vision and strategy of the product with the strategies of the language program.
• Align product development priorities and processes with the language program roadmaps.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and funding proposals, budget creation, and reporting for partnerships.
• Provide quarterly reports and requested metrics to Language Technology Leadership.
• Research, advocate for, and implement process management systems and applications.
• Supervise the integration of Agile software development methodologies with language program practices.
• Lead regular meetings for project status, planning, and partnership discussions.
• Assist in reporting on project hardware, software budgets, and immediate resource needs.
• Travel to connect with the broader development team and participate in the Language Technology Conference.
• Proven experience in managing projects for software engineering teams.
• Strong comprehension of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in leading development teams in a project management capacity.
• 3 to 5 years of preferred experience in project management within software development teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software development processes and methodologies.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve complex interactions and interdependencies within teams that impact product development or priorities.
• Appreciation for high-quality user interface design.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Capacity to swiftly analyze and understand a large existing product offering.
• Ability to make timely decisions.
• Proficiency in generating and evaluating multiple solutions to challenges.
• Capability to quickly absorb technical concepts.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, while effectively multitasking.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• PMP certification is a significant advantage.
• Must have legal authorization to work within the U.S.
• Completion of the initial IT Software Department training program and relevant sections of IT Orientation is required.
• Willingness to travel to meet the broader development team at least once annually.
• Availability for biannual travel to the Language Technology Conference.
