This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead medium to large, multi-discipline nuclear projects from initial planning and design through implementation, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Collaborate with lead managers, discipline leads, and project teams across various business units to ensure alignment on technical scope, priorities, and deliverables.
• Manage client relationships and expectations; provide timely updates on progress, risk, and costs; lead regular performance and status review meetings.
• Take ownership of project scope, schedule (integrated master schedule with phasing and lookaheads), budget/forecasts, and key performance metrics; maintain project baselines and critical path.
• Manage client expectations and sustain strong client relationships through effective communication and timely updates.
• Provide oversight on the overall cost and schedule of the project.
• Oversee and manage change orders, ensuring that scope changes are documented, approved, and integrated into project plans.
• Assess and mitigate the effects of scope changes on cost and schedule.
• Develop project-specific design, project management, and/or commissioning management work plans.
• Conduct home office or remote design and construction planning work prior to field mobilization.
• Lead and manage the design staff.
• Monitor overall design, construction, and commissioning progress, cost, quality, scope, and safety.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments at all project stages and develop contingency plans to mitigate construction and commissioning risks.
• Report task progress and costs to the Project Director and/or Client.
• Lead and participate in design project performance review meetings.
• Plan project processes by developing schedules, phasing, and lookaheads.
• Track project progress and maintain schedules.
• Ensure all documentation is current for internal and external project members.
• Collaborate with the internal design and construction team, engineers, subcontractors, etc., to determine project requirements.
• Review and oversee contractual agreements with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with terms and deliverables.
• Address disputes or claims arising from contract performance.
• Adhere to estimated costs and ensure the project remains within budget (and is profitable).
• Supervise field staff and provide constructive feedback.
• Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
• Oversee project close-out activities, including final inspections, punch list resolution, and documentation handover.
• Conduct post-project reviews to gather lessons learned and enhance future project execution.
• Ensure the job site is safe, clean, and orderly by complying with S&L standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or another relevant field / Operations Experience industry experience.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in the nuclear industry, including at least 5 years managing multiple projects or leading a team.
• Focus on full design and/or construction experience.
• 8 to 10+ years in progressive leadership roles, supervising design and/or construction teams and managing clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Must have experience in nuclear projects.
• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with EPC and GC contract models.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and clearly with multiple stakeholders, vendors, teammates, and business partners.
• Experience in determining staff positions and sizes; interviewing and selecting personnel.
• Background in establishing and effectively utilizing project control tools to manage large construction projects.
• Understanding of a process-oriented approach to accomplishing Project Management and start-up testing work.
• Proficient in developing Facility Upgrades (e.g., Major and Minor Modifications) for Nuclear Power Plants.
• Knowledgeable and experienced with the Nuclear industry Standard Design Process (SDP).
• Demonstrated experience in building client relationships.
• Knowledge of quality, safety, and health guidelines for large industrial construction job sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
