This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design electrical engineering systems for building construction purposes.
• Initiate project designs and assist in establishing design objectives and systems.
• Engage in or lead project team planning sessions.
• May assume the role of project manager or project engineering leader, facilitating engineering meetings.
• Take on project engineering responsibilities, ensuring adherence to financial and work targets.
• Create designs for lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education, and commercial clients in compliance with relevant codes.
• Produce construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Mentor less experienced team members in the drawing execution process.
• Specify electrical equipment requirements.
• Conduct quality control checks on engineering documents.
• Participate in or lead value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
• Propose enhancements based on reference standards and processes to boost quality, coordination, and streamline production efforts.
• Review and annotate shop drawings and submittals.
• Address RFI’s and assess change orders during the preparation of construction documents.
• Undertake job site visits to confirm existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
• Attend and engage in construction meetings.
• Support the application and validation of cyber-informed design principles and operational technology security requirements for critical infrastructure projects.
• Implement and interpret NIST SP 800-82 guidance and industry best practices while evaluating operational technology systems that support electrical and MEP infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clients, facility operators, technology consultants, and engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with integrated building systems and operational technology networks.
• Facilitate workshops and technical discussions focused on facility resiliency, operational continuity, and cyber-informed design strategies.
• Monitor and document compliance status, risk assessments, and recommendations through project reports and updates for owners.
• Preference for familiarity with operational technology systems, cyber-informed design principles, NIST SP 800-82, or considerations for critical infrastructure security.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is required.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience is mandatory.
• A current PE license in the United States is preferred.
• LEED accreditation is also preferred.
• Strong understanding of Life Safety Codes is essential.
• Ability to work independently across all electrical disciplines without oversight or guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Must possess critical thinking abilities.
• Highly analytical skills are necessary.
• Must be able to engage effectively with clients.
• Should be a fully qualified professional capable of performing work autonomously, even amid some ambiguity.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Proficiency in engineering design software applications (e.g., Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools) is required.
