This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide daily leadership for a statewide initiative focused on promoting reparations education and advocacy.
• Convert strategic objectives into actionable work plans, timelines, and measurable targets.
• Monitor progress and communicate results to key stakeholders, including legislative partners.
• Publicly represent the initiative to enhance awareness and build momentum.
• Collaborate with an Advisory Board and various Community Steering Committee Working Groups.
• Foster and sustain strong relationships with community leaders, nonprofits, and regional collaborators.
• Establish core systems, workflows, and processes to support the expanding initiative.
• Manage budgetary concerns, expenses, and financial oversight.
• Ensure adherence to nonprofit regulations and fiscal sponsorship requirements.
• Recruit, onboard, and supervise staff, consultants, and volunteers as the initiative grows.
• Over 7 years of experience in program leadership, campaigns, coalition-building, or related areas.
• Knowledge of regional and national racial justice movements, preferably within California.
• Proven experience in launching new programs or creating systems from the ground up.
• Background in nonprofit or grant-supported settings.
• Experience collaborating with boards or community advisory groups.
• This position is fully remote; residency in California is preferred.
