This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, programming sequences, airflow distribution, and Building Management Systems.
• Execute and oversee preliminary and conceptual engineering tasks, which include energy analysis and modeling.
• Conduct and manage ASHRAE Level I and Level II energy audits.
• Aid in business development efforts as a subject matter expert to secure contracts, which involves building client relationships, positioning projects, forming teaming arrangements, preparing proposals, and delivering oral presentations.
• Oversee the management and maintenance of Microsoft Project® for project scheduling and all associated Project Development activities.
• Extract, analyze, and prepare utility data from customer bills for energy modeling and business case development.
• Conduct custom engineering calculations and energy modeling using eQuest or Trane Trace 3D®, and perform quality checks on energy models created by others.
• Lead implementation and commissioning teams by supplying necessary information and data to ensure successful project completion.
• Utilize subject matter expertise in mission-critical systems and terminology to foster customer confidence during energy audits, client interactions, and Project Development.
• Address complex challenges during energy audits, proposing unique and innovative solutions.
• Guide a team in the timely delivery of project outputs while ensuring compliance with development timelines.
• Research, assess, and recommend new and emerging technologies for future project applications.
• Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s vision, purpose, quality objectives, and established policies and procedures.
• Travel is an essential aspect of this role, required to fulfill job responsibilities.
• A relevant Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a minimum of 8 years of related experience is mandatory.
• Additional certifications in project development, engineering, or energy-related fields are advantageous (e.g., LEED-AP, CEM, DBIA, etc.).
• A minimum of five years of progressive experience in project development or implementation.
• Strong initiative and interpersonal communication skills are essential, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Exhibits strong engineering and analytical skills to create complex solutions and establish credibility.
• Experience collaborating on intricate projects within interdisciplinary teams of professionals.
• Moderate regional travel is required, with potential for limited national travel.
• Ability to travel 30 – 50% of the time.
• Capability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality outputs, including managing others and delegating tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Proven ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced growth environment.
• Aptitude for working effectively in a dynamic, evolving, entrepreneurial workplace.
• Proficient in energy modeling software, trend analysis reporting, L1 Energy Audit Report generation, CxAlloy software, and Functional Performance Testing.
• Fluent in the energy efficiency sector, particularly within telecom and data center environments, with the capacity to quality check the work of team members.
