Project Development Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough on-site evaluations and inspections of client locations, including K-12 schools, higher education institutions, federal agencies, correctional facilities, and healthcare environments.

• Record existing conditions using designated software tools.

• Create scopes of work and carry out energy calculations for both current and proposed scenarios.

• Oversee projects from initial conception to final completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.

• Collaborate with teams, stakeholders, technical personnel, junior engineers, and subcontractors.

• Identify and resolve intricate mechanical issues.

• Plan projects and their individual components for effective tracking and presentation.

• Assist in scheduling resources for development.

• Interpret blueprints, models, mechanical systems, products, and technical diagrams.

• Investigate new technologies and industry developments to enhance products and processes.

• Promote divisional efficiencies and operational improvements.

• Lead technical staff, junior engineers, subcontractors, and foster cross-division collaboration.

• Ensure the precision and outcomes of team deliverables.

• Provide training and mentorship to junior team members.

• Facilitate the Development segment of ECM Challenger meetings as assigned.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, specializing in electrical, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering.

• Expertise in auditing domestic water, process water, steam, building envelope, HVAC Armor, and demand control ventilation systems.

• Subject matter expert in at least one area or system.

• Familiarity with several other specialized fields.

• Strong grasp of engineering principles.

• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and specifications.

• Capable of gathering, analyzing, and interpreting energy consumption data.

• Outstanding analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Skilled in training working groups and leading teams.

• Proficient in delivering impactful presentations and crafting persuasive proposals and reports.

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail in calculations, designs, and reports.

• Ability to remain current with emerging energy technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Understanding of ROI, payback period, and life cycle cost analysis.

• Proficient in energy and water scope documentation as well as measurement and verification techniques.

• Strong knowledge of estimating practices.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.

• Capability to walk and stand for extended periods.

• Ability to navigate stairs.

• Previous experience in the construction industry is advantageous.

• Preferred certifications include EIT, PE, CEM, LEED, CLIA, CWEP, or PMP.
