• Act as the primary technical resource for the DI sales team during the pre-sale phase, aiding in the development of opportunity scope, cost estimation, and application to align with client design requirements.
• Stay engaged with projects post-sale, serving as a technical resource within the project management team.
• Handle assignments related to DI turn-key, equipment-only, and unique specialty projects.
• Concentrate on delivering precise and effective Project Development Engineering support that results in clearly defined and successfully awarded projects.
• Manage multiple projects and documentation demands efficiently.
• Prioritize and manage pre-sale and post-sale activities effectively within the ERP system.
• Travel as needed to client projects, vendor locations, job sites, and event venues.
• Commit to ongoing professional development.
• Lead and develop projects.
• Facilitate and conduct customer meetings.
• Specify requirements and procure accurate vendor quotes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience as an electrical consultant, application/development engineer, or in a similar industry role.
• Proficiency in CAD software is essential.
• Strong skills in various computer software applications.
• Candidates will undergo an assessment of their Electrical Engineering skills.
• Ability to create concept drawing sets (Electrical One-line Diagrams, Site Layouts, etc.) is necessary.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical power systems, along with strong application analysis and estimation skills.
• Knowledge of reciprocating engine and power distribution equipment design is required.
• Experience with Renewable Energy Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is a plus.
• Possess strategic and analytical thinking abilities.
• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships.
• Familiarity with codes and standards interpretation and application (NEC, NFPA, IBC, IEEE, etc.).
• Review specifications, drawings, or customer requests to assess project scope, schedule, risk, and all technical delivery requirements.
• Experience in power system modeling (fault, coordination, arc flash) in SKM is advantageous.
• Understanding of utility interconnection applications and managing the associated processes.
• Contribute to discussions regarding new product offerings, keeping abreast of industry product and technological trends for various product lines and applications.
• Understand the PowerSecure product line and overall business models.
• Be knowledgeable about the sales process, strategic objectives, and project delivery requirements.
• Serve as a technical liaison for the Sales team.
• Collaborate closely with sales personnel, product engineering, and manufacturing leads to ensure comprehensive project understanding.
• Aid sales in developing project scope, schedule, risk assessments, and project information management.
• Communicate effectively with internal team members for estimate and proposal development.
• Participate in company training events, industry and product-related training or certification courses, and marketing events as requested.
• Show enthusiasm for contributing within a fast-paced corporate environment and a leading-edge Microgrid system design-build firm.
• Manage post-sale engineering project activities.
