This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Act as the technical resource for the DI sales team during the pre-sale phase, focusing on opportunity scope, costing, and application while aligning with client design intent.
• Stay engaged with projects after the sale as a technical resource within the project management team.
• Handle assignments related to DI turn-key, equipment-only, and specialized one-off projects.
• Concentrate on delivering accurate and effective Project Development Engineering support, resulting in clearly defined and awarded projects.
• Efficiently manage multiple projects and related documentation requirements.
• Prioritize and manage both pre-sale and post-sale tasks within the ERP system effectively.
• Travel as needed to client projects, vendor locations, job sites, and events.
• Commit to ongoing professional development.
• Lead and develop projects.
• Facilitate and direct customer meetings.
• Specify and secure precise vendor quotes.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience as an electrical consultant, application/development engineer, or in a comparable industry role.
• Proficient CAD skills are essential.
• Strong computer software proficiencies are required.
• Electrical Engineering skills will be evaluated through an assessment.
• Capability to create concept drawing sets (Electrical One-line Diagrams, Site Layouts, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical power systems, application analysis, and estimating abilities.
• Required knowledge of reciprocating engine and power distribution equipment design.
• Experience with Renewable Energy Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is an advantage.
• Possess strategic and analytical thinking capabilities.
• High attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
• Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with Codes and Standards Interpretation and Application (NEC, NFPA, IBC, IEEE, etc.).
• Review specifications, drawings, or customer requests to assess project scope, schedule, risks, and all technical delivery requirements.
• Experience with power system modeling (fault, coordination, arc flash) in SKM is a plus.
• Understanding of utility interconnection applications and process management.
• Engage in discussions regarding new product offerings, while staying updated on industry product and technology trends across various product lines and applications.
• Comprehend the PowerSecure product line and overall business strategies.
• Familiar with the sales process, strategic objectives, and project delivery requirements.
• Serve as a technical liaison for the Sales team.
• Collaborate closely with sales personnel, product engineering, and manufacturing leads to ensure a comprehensive understanding of projects.
• Aid sales teams in developing project scope, schedule, risk assessments, and project information management.
• Communicate effectively with internal team members for estimate and proposal development.
• Participate in company training events and relevant industry or product-related training, certification classes, and marketing initiatives for industry sector events as requested.
• Demonstrate a passion for contributing in a rapidly growing corporate environment and a cutting-edge Microgrid system design-build firm.
• Manage engineering projects post-sale.
