This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage various financial responsibilities for designated consulting projects and programs, collaborating with team members, sales and consulting personnel, management, and external parties as necessary to complete work tasks.
• Create and uphold revenue and billing formulas.
• Oversee and maintain contract funding and modification reconciliation.
• Assess and authorize certain opportunities/new bookings from the sales team.
• Analyze Estimate-At-Completion and To Completion and conduct variance analysis.
• Generate ad hoc project reporting and analysis as needed.
• Prepare month-end project journal entries.
• Coordinate activities with support teams, including Product Accounting, Contracts, and Sales.
• Evaluate and analyze contract customer requirements and project scope to meet project goals.
• Raise issues to management that exceed scope, guidelines, or performance expectations.
• Draft sales order documents and purchase orders in line with customer and vendor agreements.
• Reconcile project details between OpenAir, NetSuite, and Certinia.
• Accurately maintain revenue recognition on individual projects.
• Ensure budget details, cost, and revenue buildup are accurately maintained before opportunity/booking approval is finalized.
• Attend team and other project-related meetings as necessary.
• Offer support to the AP team, such as handling expense reports and vendor bills, as needed.
• Assist the AR team with customer invoice generation and/or clean-up, as required.
• Perform all other assigned duties.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in an accounting or financial analyst role.
• Familiarity with accounting/financial software systems such as NetSuite and Certinia, along with intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and other data management tools.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition and accrual accounting is essential.
• Experience with government contracting requirements is an advantage.
• Proven understanding of appropriate accounting treatment for consulting projects, including accounts receivable transactions, general ledger, and account reconciliations.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with customers regarding collection issues and disputes.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to read and comprehend contract documents from vendors and government agencies.
• Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage oneself effectively.
