This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Middle East.
• Assist in the execution of Gulf Sustain’s 2027 strategy and aid in the formulation of a post-2027 programme strategy.
• Enhance Gulf Sustain’s visibility by identifying stakeholders, managing relationships, and fostering trust.
• Act as a spokesperson for the programme and IHRB at external events and networking functions.
• Organize and facilitate multilateral and sectoral meetings, including outreach, stakeholder management, agenda creation, event summaries, and follow-ups.
• Conduct training and capacity-building workshops on responsible business practices and worker welfare for business and government stakeholders throughout the GCC.
• Offer informal advisory services to key partners regarding internal policies, worker welfare frameworks, and responsible recruitment practices.
• Identify funding opportunities for Gulf Sustain and cultivate relationships with prospective donors.
• Create funding proposals, strategies, and donor deliverables alongside Gulf Sustain and IHRB teams.
• Contribute to daily programme management, team calls, Steering Committee meetings, presentations, and management of external consultants.
• Collaborate with IHRB’s Migrant Workers, Shipping, Commodities, and Just Transitions Programmes.
• Track progress against the monitoring and evaluation framework, deliverables, and scheduled activities.
• Oversee the implementation of Gulf Sustain’s communications strategy and website in coordination with the communications team.
• Identify and develop initiatives and pilot workstreams for the post-2027 strategy.
• Pinpoint practical leverage points to impact policy and decision-making by business leaders and policymakers.
• Represent Gulf Sustain through events, strategic dialogues, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement throughout the GCC.
• Demonstrable experience in managing multi-partner projects across countries and over extended periods.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities or leverage points for engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Established track record in contributing to a communications strategy and developing content/key messages.
• Proficiency in writing and presenting clear, well-researched content derived from internal briefings.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential.
• Capacity to navigate political and commercial sensitivities with careful diplomacy.
• Candidates should be located in the GCC or have easy access to travel within the GCC on a semi-regular basis.
• Candidates must possess the necessary permissions to work in their respective country of residence.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one GCC country is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel across the GCC, occasionally on short notice.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar position is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of the GCC region is required.
• A keen interest or understanding of responsible business, worker welfare, shipping and trade, responsible investment, or related topics is advantageous.
• Strong writing and research capabilities are beneficial.
• Demonstrated experience with issues pertinent to or stakeholders operating in the GCC region is an advantage.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Arabic is a plus.
• Potential for extension, subject to funding availability.
• Flexible options for full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time (30 hours per week) schedules.
