This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversees the management of studies, analysis, preparation of responses, meeting support, and policy development for Health Services Policy and Oversight (HSP&O).
• Delivers direct Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Expert Writing support services to the Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (HA) and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for HSP&O.
• Interacts and communicates (both written and verbally) with senior executive leaders within the MHS governance framework on a regular basis; generates senior executive-level correspondence using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Provides essential support to key government officials for task execution and management, which includes scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, logistics, preparing agendas and meeting minutes, tracking action items and deadlines, gathering and preparing read-ahead materials, developing executive action/decision packages, as well as action memos, memorandums of support or agreement, standard operating procedures or manuals, and/or DoD or HA/DHA issuances.
• Coordinates and supervises project tasks to guarantee project completion within specified timelines.
• Crafts high-level performance-based analytical reports to offer recommendations on program effectiveness and assist in research and responses to government officials.
• Supplies research, analytical, and administrative support, including ongoing evidence-based analytical, research, and evaluation methods and outcomes research.
• Assists in the development of the HSP&O oversight structure, encompassing risk assessment, prioritization of programs for oversight, and formulating clear milestones and metrics for oversight.
• Aids in the collection, summarization, analysis, or reporting of Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense (OASD) HA/HSP&O health policy requirements, goals, objectives, initiatives, and plans, program evaluation, and reporting data.
• Supports directors in overseeing policy implementation; ensures consistent implementation of programs; and conducts assurance activities and investigations.
• Performs additional job-related tasks as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory; a degree in a healthcare-related field is highly preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in healthcare administration or operations supporting the Defense Health Agency or one of the three Military Medicine Higher Headquarters.
• A working knowledge of Health Policy is essential.
• Proficiency in Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) or a similar task tracking program is preferred.
• Proven ability to deliver effective technical presentations to client management and maintain professional and tactful coordination with various project stakeholders.
• Capability to conduct risk assessments, prioritize programs, establish milestones, and define metrics.
• Competence in collecting, summarizing, and analyzing health policy needs, goals, objectives, initiatives, and plans, along with program evaluation and reporting data.
• Ability to evaluate program effectiveness, health policy, and the current and potential organizational structure to enhance operational efficiencies and processes.
• Capacity to manage multiple policies and programs under HSP&O oversight, providing support in maintaining, tracking, verifying, and creating reports for directors and leadership to assess the effectiveness of HA policy.
• Skill in supervising policy implementation, ensuring consistent program execution, and conducting assurance activities and investigations.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Capability to support high-level meetings, including scheduling/coordination and preparing relevant documents.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Strong quantitative analysis and critical thinking abilities.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment qualifications set by Cherokee Federal.
