This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Comprehend and/or create program statements of work along with customer component application requirements.
• Lead the development and management of strategies aimed at mitigating obsolescence across Design Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Leadership.
• Collaborate with customers, component manufacturers, brokers, and external suppliers.
• Establish and maintain proactive Obsolescence Management processes.
• Drive solutions through lifetime buys, alternate-part selection, redesign initiatives, and various other mitigation strategies.
• Assist in contract negotiations, basis of estimates, and supplier statements of work for proposal activities.
• Update program leadership on strategic decisions, construction limitations, and associated risks.
• Inform program and customer leadership about the status of mitigation strategies through reports and presentations.
• Conduct trade-study analyses to uncover cost-effective redesign opportunities driven by obsolescence.
• Execute or support Parts Engineering, Components Engineering, or Applications Engineering tasks throughout the proposal, design, production, and support phases.
• Interface regularly with Designers, Contracts, Estimating, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other relevant disciplines.
• Travel to Raytheon and customer locations both domestically and internationally as required, approximately 10–20% of the time.
• Generally requires a Bachelor’s Degree along with a minimum of 8 years of pertinent prior experience.
• Proficient understanding of both proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies.
• Skills in data collection, analysis, and presentation for discussing the system impacts of component obsolescence.
• Experience in developing and managing Bills of Material (BOMs) for both developmental and production programs.
• Knowledge of Obsolescence Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, and Subsystems Design.
• Experience in creating proposals and basis of estimates (BOEs).
• Project management capabilities in interpreting statements of work, managing schedules and costs (EVMs), while integrating stakeholder needs to deliver CDRLs.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related science or engineering field.
• Understanding of the complete product life cycle, including obsolescence mitigation, technical design/redesign, production, sustainment, end of life, and end of service.
• Ability to navigate through multiple complex processes and tools.
• Familiarity with technical theories and concepts as they relate to electronic components and parts management.
• Skill in assessing and prioritizing obsolescence risks based on production and sustainment impact.
• Ability to evaluate multiple projects and prioritize them according to stakeholder and customer requirements.
