This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create materials such as fact sheets, support letters, talking points, action alerts, reports, and other content to advance policy initiatives.

• Write educational and timely communications regarding puppy mills for the ASPCA website, as well as for social media and email outreach.

• Request and evaluate public records, published research, and industry reports.

• Assist in the development of external and internal presentations and memos.

• Play a role in the planning, execution, coordination, and assessment of the team’s projects and outcomes.

• Monitor state and federal legislation, regulations, agency actions, and significant legal cases; identify pertinent developments and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.

• Maintain information tracking systems and databases to facilitate internal planning, organization, and coordination.

• Track and update progress towards departmental goals.

• Address inquiries from both external and internal sources.

• Carry out administrative tasks as needed or fulfill other functions required for the Puppy Mill Initiative.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience (including academic study) in public policy, advocacy, education, research, content development, awareness campaigns, or related fields is required.

• Strong research capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills – able to convey complex information clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, to diverse internal and external audiences.

• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Strong multitasking skills with the capability to manage multiple projects/campaigns simultaneously.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with Airtable and Canva is preferred.

• Ability to embody the core values and behavioral competencies of the ASPCA.
