This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Direct the comprehensive program management for mining projects in Central America, encompassing exploration, technical assessments, permitting, and operational readiness workflows.
• Establish program scope, objectives, milestones, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring they align with the corporate strategy.
• Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams (geology, engineering, environmental, legal, finance, community relations) and external consultants.
• Cultivate relationships with government authorities, regulators, and local organizations to progress permits, concessions, and policy advocacy.
• Lead community and stakeholder engagement initiatives that align with social license and ESG commitments.
• Assess program risks, dependencies, and critical path; develop mitigation strategies and escalate issues to the steering committee.
• Implement governance structures, reporting schedules, and KPIs across projects; generate updates for executive-level stakeholders.
• Supervise program budgets, track capital expenditures, and manage vendor and contract relationships.
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, international mining standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a similar field; a postgraduate qualification in Project/Program Management, Business, or a related area is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of the mining lifecycle: exploration, feasibility, permitting, construction, and operations.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in the mining sector, with at least 3-5 years in managing complex programs or multi-project portfolios.
• Program/project management certification (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience engaging with government authorities, regulators, and local communities, preferably in Latin America.
• Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication abilities.
• Strong planning, organizational, and risk management skills.
• Proficiency in program management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
