This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Spearhead the comprehensive delivery of a complex spacecraft mission, ensuring alignment with mission goals and customer requirements.
• Take ownership of the programme timeline, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths, driving timely delivery across all work packages.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (systems, electrical, mechanical, RF, software, payload, AIT) to ensure programme consistency.
• Supervise risk management efforts by identifying programme-level risks and collaborating with engineering leads on mitigation strategies.
• Manage budget, resources, and reporting, ensuring financial and operational transparency throughout the programme's lifecycle.
• Conduct technical and programme reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR), ensuring readiness, completeness, and quality of deliverables.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, risks, decisions, and necessary actions.
• Ensure programme activities adhere to high-reliability space standards, quality requirements, and mission constraints.
• Oversee configuration control, ensuring that changes are properly evaluated, approved, and documented.
• Support the integration, testing, and verification phases of the spacecraft, ensuring smooth transitions into AIT and mission readiness.
• Promote continuous improvement in programme processes, communication channels, and delivery efficiency.
• Represent the programme in senior-level discussions, customer meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
• Experience in the space industry, with direct involvement in spacecraft programmes, satellite development, or mission-critical space projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex technical programmes with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of spacecraft development lifecycles (design, integration, testing, verification).
• Proficient in schedule management, milestone tracking, and programme-level planning.
• Experience in risk management, issue tracking, and planning for mitigation.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate effectively with engineering leads and stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proven experience leading programme reviews and reporting to senior management.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
