Program Director – Mainframe Optimization, Delivery, ISV Migrations, Software Swaps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a Program Director and technical consultant for clients, delivering strategic advice on mainframe optimization, modernization, and transformation projects.

• Oversee comprehensive program delivery, encompassing planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder management across multiple simultaneous initiatives.

• Manage Project/Program delivery to ensure successful execution of projects.

• Assist in pre-sales efforts by participating in solution design, scoping, proposal creation, and client presentations.

• Create and uphold program plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations using tools such as Jira, Asana, MS Project, and Smartsheet.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to guarantee smooth delivery of technical solutions, including the installation, testing, and implementation of mainframe systems and software.

• Propel continuous enhancement across mainframe environments (z/OS, tape management, scheduling, security, monitoring, etc.) via automation, cost reduction, and performance tuning.

• Convert intricate technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders.

• Conduct post-project evaluations and apply lessons learned to refine future projects.

• Guide junior consultants while contributing to internal knowledge sharing and thought leadership.

• Ensure adherence to technical standards, industry best practices, and client-specific requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in technology consulting, program management, or enterprise IT delivery.

• Comprehensive knowledge of mainframe technologies and operations (z/OS, scheduling tools, tape management, etc.).

• Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale optimization or transformation initiatives.

• Strong expertise in client engagement, solution development, and pre-sales support.

• Proficient with project and program management tools (Jira, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet).

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (PMP or Agile certification is advantageous).
