📋 Description

• Oversee the execution and assessment of health programs for patients and professionals that support NKF’s mission and strategic objectives, ensuring that staffing assignments, budgeting, and technical requirements are fulfilled in collaboration with the Executive Director.

• Organize and implement professional education initiatives, such as renal roundtables, which include venue selection and management, budget monitoring, provider recruitment, and marketing strategies.

• Create and manage programs aimed at patients and the community, encompassing kidney health prevention and awareness initiatives, educational workshops, and community outreach activities.

• Leverage program plans for patient and professional education, delivery and training resources, and communication tools to facilitate successful program execution.

• Establish and nurture strategic alliances with healthcare providers, community organizations, faith-based groups, senior centers, NGOs, educational institutions, government bodies, and corporate sponsors, including pharmaceutical companies, throughout Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.

• Oversee the entire partner engagement lifecycle, which includes executing agreements and managing partner performance.

• Identify prospective community organizations that should join NKF’s local network.

• Collaborate with the Executive Director, Field Programs, Development, and National teams to enhance and diversify funding sources for the local program portfolio.

• Lead the identification and proposal development for local execution of patient and professional programs.

• Recognize potential funding opportunities from pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical sources, including innovative funding models.

• Write grant proposals and secure funding through both new and existing grants.

• Keep the Executive Director and Development team updated on program priorities, advancements, and funding requirements.

• Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies that showcase local program results and impact, including social media strategies, creative content development, and promotional materials.

• Collaborate with NKF’s Branding and Communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and visibility.

• Exhibit strong project management abilities, including budget development and oversight, event planning, logistics management, prioritization, and deadline adherence.

• Represent NKF as a subject matter expert and thought leader at conferences, community forums, coalitions, and health sector meetings to enhance visibility and influence.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional experience in community health education, patient advocacy, grassroots program implementation, or nonprofit community engagement, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or ownership role.

• Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful history of securing funding through both new and existing grants; a minimum of 3 years in grant development and proposal writing is required.

• Demonstrated expertise in fundraising, sponsorship development, or revenue generation, including the identification and cultivation of corporate and pharmaceutical funding partners alongside the exploration of innovative funding models.

• Proven experience in planning and executing professional education programs, community events, or health screenings, which entails venue coordination, logistics management, and provider or participant recruitment.

• Familiarity with kidney disease, chronic diseases, or related health areas, along with an understanding of the needs of patients, caregivers, and at-risk communities is preferred.

• Experience in developing marketing and social media strategies, creative content, and promotional materials to enhance program visibility and engagement is required.

• Established experience in partnership development and relationship management with healthcare providers, community organizations, faith-based groups, and local stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to build trust and maintain engagement across diverse populations.

• Demonstrated project management experience, including budget management and deadline adherence, managing multiple projects concurrently, effective prioritization, and attention to detail, both independently and collaboratively.

• Experience in volunteer recruitment and engagement, ideally with healthcare or community-based professionals to focus on groups at highest risk for kidney disease.

• Strong analytical capabilities; experience in tracking and interpreting program outcomes and community impact data to inform decision-making and demonstrate results.

• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex information to diverse audiences such as stakeholders, patients, donors, and community members.

• Proficiency in various software and CRM platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Salesforce, and Canva.

• Exceptional organizational, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.

• Adaptable, resourceful, and capable of responding effectively to challenges as they arise.

• Experience in developing strategic communications, advocacy, or thought leadership initiatives within the healthcare or community health sectors.
