This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Assist with projects and contracts while coordinating operational activities across functions such as operations support, procurement, finance, and meeting facilitation.
• Progress Chesapeake Bay agriculture strategy initiatives, including those financed by significant Federal grants.
• Collaborate with internal TNC teams, including Grants and Legal departments.
• Organize project team meetings and oversee follow-up actions.
• Update and manage intranet sites and internal databases.
• Oversee administrative and program-related operations.
• Handle the processing and management of contracts and procurement activities.
• Manage invoices, craft reports and forecasts, monitor budgets, and assist in budget forecasting.
• Carry out Information Systems, Data Security, and Finance tasks per team protocols and resources.
• Offer guidance on TNC policies, procedures, financial standards, and legal obligations.
• Establish processes and practices to enhance efficiency.
• Communicate with staff, vendors, and business partners to facilitate decision-making, problem-solving, and workflow enhancements.
• Ensure adherence to Conservancy policies, external donor/legal/IRS stipulations, and terms of both private and public grants.
• Manage projects within specified timelines and budgets.
• Conduct analysis, research, and ensure follow-through.
• Handle confidential information with discretion.
• Process purchasing and invoices, contract with vendors, and assist in budget formulation.
• Provide suggestions for enhancing existing programs and occasionally serve as a resource or substitute for the supervisor when directed.
• Travel occasionally for multi-day retreats in the mid-Atlantic region and adjust work hours as required for coordination in the Eastern Time Zone.
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in coordinating administrative processes.
• Proficiency in generating reports and interpreting data.
• Skilled in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
• Capability to organize time effectively and manage a variety of activities to meet deadlines.
• Experience collaborating across teams and communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
• Ability to analyze information for the coordination and planning of activities and problem-solving.
• Proficient in utilizing existing technology to achieve desired outcomes.
• Exceptional customer service skills and focus.
• Experience in interpreting guidelines to attain desired results.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience managing aspects of large Federal grants.
• Experience overseeing contracts, including drafting and completing due diligence.
• Familiarity with financial systems, including invoice and budget administration.
• Must satisfy The Nature Conservancy's background screening criteria.
• Occasional domestic travel may be necessary.
• Ability to work Eastern Standard Time hours.
