Professional Coding Supervisor – Physician Professional Coders

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary point of contact for effective communication with Capital Health Medical Group (CHMG) Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.

• Provide direct oversight and monitoring of the activities conducted by professional coding staff.

• Ensure compliant coding of professional procedural services utilizing ICD10-CM and Current Procedural Terminology.

• Supervise and uphold productivity standards for both internal and external professional coding personnel.

• Organize educational initiatives and correspondence with physicians regarding procedural coding services.

• Conduct internal quality assessment reviews of professional coding practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P) certification is mandatory.

• Certification in physician coding.

• A minimum of three years of experience in professional procedure coding.

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations pertaining to professional coding.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, or Pathophysiology.

• Ability to evaluate and develop coding education plans using various methods for professional coding staff.
