Professional Coding Specialist III – Cardiothoracic Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Precisely codes and/or audits intricate surgical procedures, including Bariatric surgery and Cardiothoracic surgery.

• Analyzes and interprets medical record documentation to allocate the correct codes.

• Maintains and enhances coding expertise through quality reviews and participation in seminars.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or its Equivalent.

• Valid HIM/Coding Certification from AHIMA or AAPC.

• Required to obtain Specialty Medical Coding Certification from AAPC within one (1) year of employment.

• A minimum of three (3) years of medical coding experience, including at least one (1) year of advanced surgical coding experience.
