Professional Billing Coder – Surgical Specialty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for cardiothoracic and various special surgical services.

• Evaluate operative reports, clinic notes, and relevant documentation to ensure coding is both complete and compliant.

• Implement appropriate modifiers, bundling rules, and NCCI edits.

• Ensure adherence to CMS, AMA, and specific payer billing guidelines.

• Identify any documentation deficiencies and communicate the need for clarifications as necessary.

• Meet established standards for productivity and quality.

• Engage in internal quality assessments and audits as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in professional billing coding.

• Proven experience coding complex surgical services.

• Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, and NCCI edits.

• CPC or equivalent coding certification is preferred.

• Experience in hospital-based physician billing settings.

• Ability to work independently with a keen attention to detail.
