Professional Billing Coder – Cardiothoracic, Special Surgical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for precise and compliant coding of physician professional services related to intricate surgical procedures.

• Facilitates prompt claim submissions, adherence to regulations, and revenue integrity within a hospital-based professional billing setting.

• Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for cardiothoracic and various special surgical services.

• Examine operative reports, clinic notes, and relevant documentation to guarantee thorough and compliant coding.

• Implement suitable modifiers, bundling rules, and NCCI edits.

• Ensure alignment with CMS, AMA, and specific payer billing guidelines.

• Detect documentation deficiencies and communicate clarification requirements as necessary.

• Achieve established productivity and quality benchmarks.

• Engage in internal quality assessments and audits as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2+ years of experience in professional billing coding.

• Proven experience in coding cardiothoracic and complex surgical services.

• Comprehensive understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, and NCCI edits.

• CPC or equivalent coding certification is preferred.

• Experience in hospital-based physician billing settings.

• Capability to work autonomously with a keen eye for detail.
