This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Convert product strategy and customer insights into user journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and refined front-end UI designs.
• Develop high-fidelity interactive prototypes to test concepts with stakeholders, higher education partners, and students.
• Collaborate on customer research, analyze feedback, and transform complex user requirements into product solutions.
• Assist in applying and evolving Mentor Collective’s brand identity throughout the digital product experience.
• Manage and enhance the UI component library to ensure design consistency and facilitate efficient engineering handoffs.
• Experiment with AI tools and new technologies to streamline design workflows, explore UI patterns, and enhance the product experience.
• Work closely with the Product Manager, Head of Product & Customer Success, and the engineering team.
• Lead brainstorming sessions both internally and with customers.
• Recognize enhancements and opportunities within the product and the broader business landscape.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional UX/Product Design experience in a web or SaaS context.
• A portfolio is required, showcasing the complete UX process rather than just final screens.
• In-depth knowledge of user-centered design principles, information architecture, user flows, and usability heuristics.
• Proficient in Figma or similar tools for creating interactive, testable prototypes.
• Capability to balance user experience with technical feasibility, development scope, and business goals.
• Strong ability to articulate the reasoning behind design choices.
• Experience facilitating brainstorming sessions internally and with clients.
• Practical knowledge of modern design and AI tools, particularly tools like Claude Design alongside Figma.
• Experience in building prototypes, maintaining scalable design systems, and producing development-ready assets.
• Self-driven and proactive in identifying product and business enhancements.
• Familiarity with or a strong willingness to learn web accessibility standards WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA.
• Background in designing high-engagement consumer-facing web or mobile applications is a plus.
• Experience in Higher Education, EdTech, or multi-stakeholder SaaS platforms is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and design systems is a plus.
