Product Underwriting Counsel

📋 Description

• Identifies, assesses, communicates, and manages title insurance risks associated with a technology feature, product, or product line.

• Implements the underwriting vision and strategy for a technology feature, product, or product line.

• Engages in planning meetings and discussions regarding product strategy.

• Evaluates market competition by developing insights into competitor products to pinpoint gaps, competitive threats, and advantages.

• Offers expertise in underwriting, title insurance, and real estate conveyancing to product managers, designers, researchers, and engineers.

• Simplifies complex title insurance and real estate concepts into clear ideas that are understandable to product team members, influencing product strategy.

• Converts intricate technology product concepts into accessible ideas for transaction underwriters, impacting transaction underwriting protocols.

• Carries out assignments and tasks outlined in the product roadmap.

• Contributes insights to the product development team regarding product evolution and prioritization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Law Degree is mandatory.

• Must be admitted to law practice in a manner suitable for the position and location.

• A minimum of three years of direct experience in title insurance underwriting, title counsel, or real estate conveyancing is required.

• Proven ability to exercise underwriting judgment in technology, product, automation, or AI-driven environments.

• Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.

• Comprehensive understanding of land titles, real estate law, and the conveyancing process.

• Strong knowledge of federal and state laws related to title insurance and settlement services.

• Some technical proficiency (e.g., beginner-level understanding of at least one programming language).

• Business acumen and strategic agility that effectively influence outcomes and facilitate negotiations for resources.
