Product Technical Manager – Ornamentals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Cultivates positive relationships with grower customers to enhance sales and profitability.

• Provides training and education to both internal and external customers regarding flower seed and vegetative products.

• Aids in problem resolution and supplies growing solutions and troubleshooting guidance to our customers.

• Organizes, schedules, and visits grower-customers to recommend best practices and procedures for cultivating greenhouse crops.

• Communicates observations, summaries, and recommendations from customers about what is being cultivated and used in the wholesale and consumer markets back to the Director of Ornamentals Group, Key Account Managers, Customer Service Team, Technical Support Managers, Product Managers, and Breeders.

• Develops, maintains, and disseminates a comprehensive knowledge base regarding cultural practices to better position flower seed and vegetative crops with customers.

• Attends and actively engages in industry events, which may involve leading tours, delivering cultural presentations, and writing articles for both internal and external platforms.

• Manages expense accounts judiciously and within the allocated budget.

• Operates within the scope of authority and in alignment with SAH objectives and policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in greenhouse growing and/or Technical Management.

• Strong preference for candidates with sales, marketing, and growing experience.

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in agriculture or horticulture, or equivalent training and experience is required.

• Must possess in-depth product and practice knowledge related to the greenhouse cultivation of annual seeds, vegetative, and cut flower crops.

• Ability to forge lasting relationships both internally and externally is essential.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

• Must demonstrate the capability to use tact and discretion to achieve objectives through collaboration with others.

• Strong work ethic and a high level of integrity are required.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook is essential.

• A creative, strategic, and conceptual thinker who can effectively translate ideas into actionable practices.

• Ability to work effectively and interact within a multi-cultural environment.

• Capacity to manage stress, particularly when facing project deadlines and high workloads.

• Must be able to function under strict time constraints and requirements.
