This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
β’ Take full ownership of Sentinel's product backlog from start to finish β including grooming, prioritization, dependency management, and ensuring sprint readiness.
β’ Guarantee that 100% of items entering a sprint have clearly defined acceptance criteria, thus minimizing rework caused by ambiguous scopes.
β’ Frame backlog items as testable hypotheses when applicable, maintaining alignment with Sentinel's PMF learning agenda and ensuring the team understands what success looks like in each cycle.
β’ Lead sprint ceremonies β including planning, refinement, review, and retrospectives β while pragmatically adapting agile practices to meet the actual needs of the team.
β’ Convert strategic directives from the CTO into clear, well-defined stories, asking the right clarifying questions upfront to avoid rework later in the process.
β’ Proactively initiate and organize discovery work in every sprint cycle β including user feedback synthesis, assumption mapping, and delivery retrospectives β while presenting evidence-based recommendations to the CTO.
β’ Serve as the main point of contact for requirement clarification during development, facilitating quick resolutions for engineers and maintaining sprint integrity.
β’ Define, monitor, and report on delivery health KPIs through Jira β including sprint predictability, defect leakage, and cycle time β ensuring the CTO has continuous visibility into the quality of Sentinel's delivery.
β’ Actively participate in roadmap and product direction discussions, offering a grounded, delivery-informed perspective to strategic conversations.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
β’ Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in product ownership or a closely related role within a tech company, preferably as the primary or sole Product Owner on a product.
β’ Extensive experience working in the B2B SaaS market.
β’ In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle β from code changes flowing through development, staging, and production environments, to QA evaluation and release.
β’ Demonstrated ability to independently manage a comprehensive product backlog, including stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and prioritization.
β’ Strong experience in applying Agile/Scrum methodologies.
β’ Proficient in using Jira for project, backlog, and sprint management.
β’ Previous experience in an early-stage, high-growth, and fast-paced startup environment.
β’ Familiarity with MS Office/Excel, Google Suite, and Notion.
β’ Willingness to travel as necessary to support events and meet the team.
β’ Fluent in Portuguese.
β’ Advanced proficiency in English.
