Head of Product

Posted 1 hour ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Demonstrated experience as an operator-coach: guiding product teams within a high-performance, fast-paced setting while enhancing the skills of those around you.

• Your role will encompass two main aspects.

• You will establish the operational cadence of the function: having a clear understanding of the status of every project, what is upcoming, what obstacles exist, and what decisions remain unresolved, all without needing to be prompted.

• Collaborating on engineering budgets in advance and ensuring adherence to them; maintaining a no-surprises standard for adjustments and early warnings.

• You will oversee the product quality standards: outlining what excellence looks like in terms of consistency, user experience, and craftsmanship, instilling these standards in the Product Managers until they become second nature.

• You will direct both the Product Managers and the Delivery Managers.

• Your performance will be evaluated primarily on three aspects: ensuring leadership is always informed about the status of every project without inquiry, guaranteeing that no user-facing product falls below the quality threshold, and maintaining a consistent pace.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as an operator-coach: leading product teams in a high-execution, fast-paced environment while uplifting the capabilities of your colleagues.

• Successfully coached a direct report to achieve trusted, independent decision-making, with the ability to articulate how and why it was safe for them to take a step back.

• A history of elevating a team's quality standards so that it remains effective even in their absence, leading to a reduction in rejections during reviews over time.

• Experience managing delivery from start to finish across multiple simultaneous initiatives, emphasizing results over mere output.

• Ability to analyze products critically and with precision: upon seeing an unfamiliar interface, quickly identifying flaws, understanding their significance, and proposing solutions.

• Experience in pre-agreeing budgets and scopes while ensuring adherence, including early identification of any deviations.

• Capable of examining, reconstructing, and justifying an engineering estimate to leadership: comprehending what the figure includes and why, and never conveying a number without being able to substantiate it.

• Background in B2B or enterprise SaaS, ideally with experience in complex, multi-tenant, or AI-intensive products.

• Familiarity with high-ownership cultures where individuals are encouraged to work autonomously.

• Genuine understanding of contemporary UX and UI standards, conventions, and design trends, with the confidence to assert “not good enough” with accuracy.

• A strong technical foundation, preferably from a technical or computer science background: able to evaluate engineering efforts and costs instead of accepting “it's complex” at face value, and not easily misled by engineers without being the most technical person in the room.

• Rigor in evaluating AI and probabilistic features: knows how to define and measure “good” rather than merely pointing to usage, treating evaluation as a new specification.

• Proficient with modern AI tools and inspired by their potential, both in team operations and product development.

• Strong skills in customer research and synthesis: transforming numerous discussions into clear, prioritized input for decisions, focusing on strategic accounts as the most significant.

• Understanding of fixed-time, flexible-scope delivery and how to manage product development efficiently without extensive planning processes.

• Experience working within cross-functional teams, particularly across Product, Engineering, and Quality.

• Execution-oriented operator who thrives on speed, ownership, and delivering results.

• Naturally transparent: communicates bad news early and clearly, adjusts plans openly, and sees being incorrect as inexpensive and delays as costly.

• Creates a safe environment for honest flagging within the team by the way they respond to problems presented to them.

• Low ego: focuses on building the team and the overall success, excited to achieve victories together.

• Bilingual under pressure: absorbs top-down demands and transforms them into clear, actionable work rather than passing down chaos.

• Highly proactive and self-motivated: resolves obstacles independently, does not wait for approval, and offers solutions rather than complaints.

• Inquisitive, optimistic, and driven by improvement, always seeking ways to enhance efficiency.

• Clear and confident communicator, capable of aligning both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

🏝️ Benefits

• 25 days of annual leave (with the option to buy and sell additional days).

• Cycle to work scheme.

• Access to a Learning & Development platform.

• Life Insurance.

• Auto Enrollment in Pensions.

• Healthshield (cashback on dental check-ups, fillings, eye tests, physiotherapy, prescriptions, and much more).

• Reimbursement for personal mobile phone usage.

• Free gym membership and complimentary Friday lunch for office-based staff.
