Product Manager, Data-Viz Startup, B2B SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• In the role of Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining the "what" and "why" of all our product releases.

• Engage with customers, analyze usage data, craft concise specifications, and collaborate with engineers to transform ideas into beloved features.

• Product Roadmap: Establish and prioritize our development agenda based on customer insights, market trends, and business objectives.

• Specs & Documentation: Produce clear and comprehensive specifications in Markdown format—our preferred method—to ensure that engineering understands precisely what to build and the reasoning behind it.

• Customer Discovery: Interact extensively with customers to grasp their workflows, challenges, and their interpretation of "mind-blowing" solutions.

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate daily with engineering and design teams to enable rapid and iterative shipping of products.

• AI Exploration: Assess opportunities where AI can genuinely enhance our product's intelligence—and identify areas where it may be overhyped.

• Data-Driven Decisions: Monitor product metrics, conduct experiments, and leverage data to validate concepts (or abandon less viable ideas).

• Get Shit Done: Take necessary actions to advance the product—whether that involves coordinating launches, addressing bugs, responding to support inquiries, or even brewing coffee for the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (mandatory); proficiency in German is a bonus.

• A minimum of 2 years of product management experience, preferably within a SaaS or B2B context.

• A genuine passion for data visualization, charts, and the art of presenting complex information attractively.

• Capability to compose specifications that engineers find enjoyable to read.

• Proficiency in Markdown is essential.

• Comfortable collaborating closely with technically inclined engineers—and consider yourself one of them.

• An inquisitive nature regarding AI/ML and a practical understanding of how it can enhance a product.

• A proactive approach: you prefer to deliver something imperfect quickly and iterate rather than engage in lengthy debates.

• Bonus: Familiarity with R, PowerBI, Tableau, D3.js, experience with data visualization tools, or thoughts on the merits of bar charts versus pie charts.
