This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• We are seeking a Product Engineer with a robust frontend specialization, a solid technical background, and experience in developing SaaS products within Agile frameworks.
• You will play a key role in creating high-quality user experiences, taking full ownership of the user interface, interaction patterns, performance, accessibility, and the overall quality of our applications.
• Although your primary focus will be on frontend development, we appreciate a holistic product mindset and welcome your willingness to expand your influence into backend or mobile systems when necessary, utilizing AI support.
• You will be part of a product squad and collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and seasoned engineers from backend, frontend, mobile, and AI disciplines.
• This role is evolving towards complete ownership—emphasizing the understanding of user challenges, shaping product strategies, rapid prototyping, and validating concepts, rather than merely coding to strict specifications.
• The company is also undergoing a transformation; you are not expected to have all the answers from day one.
• What is most important is your curiosity, adaptability, strong engineering judgment, and a sincere desire to learn new approaches to work.
• You will be equipped with the tools, practices, and team environment necessary to develop into a product-oriented, AI-enabled engineer while further enhancing your technical proficiency.
• Frontend Expertise: Practical experience with TypeScript and frameworks/libraries such as Angular, React, and Vue; a solid foundation in HTML and CSS, along with a strong eye for UX.
• Cross-Stack Perspective: Frontend is your main area of expertise, but you’re open to exploring backend or mobile development as needed for specific features.
• Familiarity with AI Coding Tools: You are either currently utilizing AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) as part of your workflow or are eager to incorporate them.
• Ownership Mindset: You prioritize user impact over task completion. You consider questions like "what would genuinely assist the user or enhance my understanding?" and pursue solutions—whether it’s a prototype, feature instrumentation, discussions with a PM, or feedback from Customer Success. You see features through to deployment and assess their impact.
• Agile Background: Experience in developing SaaS products within agile environments.
• Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with design systems and Web Components (we use Stencil to develop our component library).
• Knowledge of analytics and event tracking tools (we utilize Mixpanel).
• Experience with E2E testing (we employ Playwright).
• Work Mode: We operate on a remote-first basis, offering you the flexibility to work from home. However, we also recognize the value of in-person collaboration. Depending on your role, you will participate in occasional team events, workshops, or meetings at our Berlin or Stuttgart offices—always with ample notice. The precise balance will be discussed during your interview.
• Work-Life Balance: We prioritize your well-being and don't want you to feel tethered to your desk. That’s why we cover the costs of your E-Gym-Wellpass membership and offer job bike leasing.
• Celebrating Success: You will find highly motivated and dedicated individuals in a relaxed working environment.
• Contributing to Something Greater: You will actively shape Flip in your position. In the process, you become a key player in the rapid growth of a young tech company while pursuing your goals, with plenty of enjoyment along the way.
• Enjoy Being a Flipster: Look forward to regular team events and culture days that foster camaraderie among us as Flipsters.
• Opportunity to Work Abroad: At Flip, you also have the option to work abroad within the European Union. Let's discuss remote work opportunities during your interview.
