Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Become a part of Wellio’s Product Team as an Engineer.

• Create and deliver product solutions that tackle student wellbeing issues for educational institutions.

• Design and sustain Ruby on Rails applications.

• Spearhead the execution of several key product initiatives.

• Acquire an in-depth understanding of the codebase and the business landscape.

• Enhance development practices through code reviews and comprehensive technical documentation.

• Establish patterns and practices that simplify interactions with the monolith.

• Engage in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.

• Work closely with the CTO, senior Product Engineers, Designers, Head of Product, co-founders, and customer-facing teams.

• Maintain close contact with customers to address their challenges.

• Integrate technology, content, and design to foster student wellbeing.

• Operate within the Shape Up product development framework.

• Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Proven track record in developing impactful, customer-centered products.

• Strong skills in technical problem-solving.

• Commitment to clean-code principles.

• Pragmatic mindset for balancing technical limitations with business requirements.

• Ability to constructively resolve challenges and translate complex problems into actionable solutions.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding.

• Open to working from anywhere in Australia.

• Willingness or capability to work from Melbourne or Sydney offices if located nearby.
