This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take ownership of the product vision, strategy, and multi-horizon roadmap for the Public Sector.
• Ensure the public sector roadmap is in alignment with Unit4's platform strategy and commercial growth objectives.
• Manage a prioritized product backlog with dedicated engineering resources.
• Establish outcomes, success metrics, release plans, and quality standards.
• Oversee feature outcomes and monitor adoption, usage, and customer impact following launch.
• Act as the internal expert on the Public Sector domain for product, marketing, analyst relations, and pre-sales teams.
• Convert sector insights into product requirements, opportunity assessments, and build-vs-partner decisions.
• Develop industry-specific solution blueprints, reference configurations, and pre-built templates.
• Collaborate with horizontal product teams across finance, HR, procurement, and operations.
• Work alongside the Industry Growth Director on launch readiness, pricing, packaging, and field enablement.
• Interact with strategic customers and the Public Sector Industry Board to validate roadmap direction and foster co-innovation.
• Ensure that regulatory, security, accessibility, and localization requirements are incorporated into the roadmap.
• Keep an eye on competitors such as Civica, Visma, Centric, and CGI.
• Collaborate with partners to enhance the value proposition for public sector customers.
• Proven experience in product management for enterprise software, ERP, or enterprise SaaS within public sector organizations.
• Background in developing products tailored for municipalities, local authorities, or specialized agencies.
• Experience in launching products utilized by finance and operations teams in the public sector.
• Extensive knowledge of public finance management, public sector accounting, and government budgeting practices.
• Understanding of public procurement frameworks, approval workflows, audit trails, supplier management, and contract compliance.
• Familiarity with government security, data residency, and audit expectations for cloud ERP solutions.
• Clear perspective on responsible AI practices applicable to public sector organizations.
• Commercially oriented with an understanding of how product decisions influence ARR, win rates, and customer retention.
• Strong communication skills to engage with Heads of Finance, Heads of ICT, and senior public service leadership.
• Experience in product management for enterprise SaaS platforms.
• In-depth understanding of professional services business models, including project delivery, utilization, billing, scheduling, and compliance.
• Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
• Capacity to translate complex industry needs into scalable product solutions.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience with ERP or PSA platforms is preferred.
• Familiarity with mid-market services firms and their operational challenges is advantageous.
• Experience in AI-driven or data-rich product environments is a plus.
• May require obtaining security clearance and undergoing background checks for customer projects and sensitive data.
