This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the principal hands-on designer for consumer and patient experiences, managing daily design execution.
• Create websites, native applications, lifecycle communications, patient-facing reports, print materials, social media content, and innovative product experiences.
• Develop and enhance a scalable Figma design system that accommodates multiple products, sub-brands, contributors, and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product leadership and engineers from the definition of problems to implementation, quality assurance, launch, and iterative improvements.
• Design unified customer and care journeys across both digital and physical touchpoints.
• Convert customer, clinical, operational, and business requirements into effective design solutions.
• Establish desired outcomes and success metrics in partnership with product leadership.
• Architect, develop, document, and maintain shared Figma design systems and component libraries.
• Generate scalable components, patterns, templates, tokens, and guidelines.
• Align design-system components with reusable production components in collaboration with engineering.
• Work together with engineers to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and executed to a high standard.
• Assess and enhance work utilizing customer feedback, behavioral data, experimentation, and business performance metrics.
• Assist with broader brand and creative needs across patient, marketing, and company touchpoints.
• Over 5 years of professional product design experience, or equivalent expertise showcased through an impressive portfolio.
• Exceptional visual and interaction design skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven experience in designing intricate, consumer-facing products and multi-surface customer journeys.
• Strong systems thinking abilities and experience in building or significantly contributing to a shared Figma design system.
• Portfolio that illustrates component-level scalability, complex journey design, design craftsmanship, and collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Evidence that design work has achieved measurable customer or business impact.
• Experience working directly with product leaders and engineers from problem definition to implementation and launch.
• Willingness to remain actively engaged throughout development and take responsibility for the quality of the final experience.
• Proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, variables, libraries, prototyping, and scalable file structuring.
• Capability to balance customer needs, business objectives, technical limitations, operational realities, and market speed.
• Comfort in working independently within a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities and ambiguously defined briefs.
• Strong communication abilities, sound judgment, curiosity, and a collaborative, low-ego mindset.
• Portfolio submission is required.
• Later interview will include a case study presentation illustrating customer/business challenges, ownership, constraints and trade-offs, collaboration, involvement in implementation, and measurable outcomes.
• Bonus experience: involvement in early-stage or scaling startups; consumer health, healthcare, digital health, or regulated products; wearable devices, biometric data, health insights, or data visualization; ecommerce, subscription products, acquisition funnels, or conversion optimization; UX copywriting; no-code, drag-and-drop, or AI-assisted tools; motion design, animation, video editing, or social media creative; patient-facing reports; and extending parent brands across products or sub-brands.
