This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Advocate for the Core Product (70%) Immerse yourself in our native desktop user interface, onboarding processes, and Pro/paywall experiences. You will take full responsibility for converting intricate product strategies into smooth, pixel-perfect player journeys while adhering to the technical and performance limitations of operating alongside demanding PC games. "Taking ownership" begins before Figma; it involves extracting data from Amplitude and our dashboards, engaging directly with players, collaborating with PMs (or conducting your own research), and forming a robust, informed opinion about the challenge before engaging with design tools.
• Lead Web & Growth (30%) Take charge of our online presence and marketing strategies, treating our website as a primary product experience that stimulates user acquisition and fosters brand loyalty.
• Innovate with AI, Construct with the Appropriate Tool Your workflow initiates with an LLM. Leverage it to gain a thorough understanding of the problem landscape—analyze metrics, identify edge cases, draft problem statements, and stress-test assumptions. Arrive at discussions with a well-formed perspective, not a blank slate. When validation is necessary, select the medium that best addresses the question. If a quick, comprehensive interactive prototype provides the fastest answer, create it in Claude Code or Cursor. If high-fidelity visual detail and complete state coverage are required, use Figma. The decision of which to apply rests with you—and it is crucial.
• Implement & Advance the Ecosystem You will design features that traverse our multi-surface ecosystem (Desktop, Web, Overlay). Collaborating closely with the Lead Product Designer, you will apply, stress-test, and contribute to the evolution of our core design language to ensure that every new feature feels seamlessly integrated into the broader Wand platform.
• Define the Scope - Don't Wait for It Don't wait for a perfectly articulated specification. Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish feature scopes, confidently challenge ambiguity, and advocate fiercely for the player's experience. If you anticipate a potential issue on the horizon, you should already be addressing it.
• Over 5 years of product design experience as a senior individual contributor, backed by a portfolio showcasing outstanding visual/UI execution and in-depth systems thinking.
• A genuine and profound passion for gaming culture along with an understanding of what constitutes exceptional gaming experiences.
• Regular use of LLMs (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) as an integral part of your thinking and working processes—not solely for production but also for research, problem framing, and decision-making.
• Expertise with AI-assisted prototyping tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and the discernment to recognize when a coded prototype is more beneficial than a static composition.
• Mastery of Figma and a thorough comprehension of design systems.
• Strategic product insight: You excel in uncertain situations, collaborate effectively with PMs and Design Leadership to refine requirements, and know when to assertively defend the user experience.
• A builder's mentality: Motivated by fast-paced environments and the freedom to own problems comprehensively across intricate, interconnected systems.
• Flexible work arrangements
