This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist in the discovery process to uncover opportunities for automation, dashboard enhancements, AI application, and workflow improvements.
• Document existing workflows, challenges, manual processes, barriers to data access, and issues related to user adoption.
• Facilitate user interviews, collaborative working sessions, usability testing, and feedback collection sessions.
• Aid in converting user requirements into product ideas, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications.
• Develop user flows, journey maps, workflow diagrams, wireframes, and low- to mid-fidelity prototypes.
• Contribute to the design of AI-enhanced experiences that foster trust, transparency, feedback, and human oversight.
• Assist in organizing and synthesizing research outcomes, usability feedback, and product insights.
• Analyze usage data, user feedback, and help desk patterns to identify areas for product enhancement.
• Support the creation of training materials, onboarding processes, help content, job aids, and other resources to enable users.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data, AI/ML, training, and support teams to ensure cohesive development.
• Document design choices, research insights, usability findings, and handoff materials for future reference.
• Partner with senior designers to enhance design quality, accessibility, and uniformity across projects.
• At least 1 year of experience in product design, user experience (UX), human-centered design (HCD), service design, UX research, or similar roles; relevant internships, academic projects, or portfolio work may be considered.
• A Bachelor’s degree in HCD, HCI, UX, design, or a related discipline.
• A portfolio showcasing a user-centered design approach, research-driven decisions, and comprehensive design documentation.
• Experience in creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, or design documentation.
• Basic knowledge of user research methodologies, usability testing techniques, workflow analysis, and research synthesis.
• Familiarity with digital products, dashboards, workflow tools, automation, or data-driven interfaces.
• An interest in AI-enabled products, responsible AI practices, or human-in-the-loop design concepts.
• Capability to convert user needs and feedback into coherent design artifacts.
• Proficiency in supporting the creation of training materials, onboarding content, help resources, or user enablement tools.
• Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a readiness to learn within a collaborative team setting.
• Proficiency in tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, or similar applications.
• Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret-level security clearance.
